And so, a read-a-thon ends again. I had a lot of fun reading all of these books! It brought me back into the reading game and I’m glad as I was feeling quite slumpy for the past few months. Now I cannot wait to read more! 😀 May the next read-a-thon come soon! 😉

Until next time: happy reading! 🙂

Wrap-Up

Number of books finished: 6
Number of pages read: 2076

What an amazing way to start the year! I have read a book a day (except for Wednesday) and completed six of the seven challenges. I didn’t get to read the book that was out of my comfort zone (Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov), but that was alright. I wasn’t feeling like reading it by the end of the week anyway. I might read it later in the month, but we’ll see about that 😉

So overall I read quite a few books and pages and I am six books ahead with my Goodreads Challenge, which is great. Now I can read the books on my TBR and then finally (hopefully!) read some of the bigger books I am always afraid to read because they take forever to read and also because I am afraid to fall behind with my challenge for the year. I think every year should start with a read-a-thon, what do you think?

Until next time: happy reading! 🙂

Dewey’s 24-Hour-Read-A-Thon: Introductory Meme // Updates

Opening Meme

1. What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I will be reading from Germany today. It is now 4:13 p.m. This means I’m over 2 hours late for this read-a-thon, gaaah!

2. Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I am still in the middle of some books that I would like to finish. There is Allegiant by Veronica Roth as well as Slasher Girls & Monster Boys by April Genevieve Tucholke. I am excited for the conclusion of a series as well as ready for a bit of a spooky read during Halloween season.

3. Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I just came home from grocery shopping and there have been quite a few items that made it into the basket that I can snack on. I am most looking forward to the Haribo winegums.

4. Tell us a little something about yourself!
I have been very slumpy lately and then I got back into reading a lot and now I’m on the verge of getting a lot of reading done or falling back into that slump. I’m hoping for the read-a-thon to pull me finally out of that slump.

5. If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I joined this read-a-thon for the first time this April and although I didn’t manage to read a lot, it was fun!
What I want to do differently is to invest more time in reading. I don’t have any plans this weekend, except for reading. I may watch a few episodes of a TV show with my boyfriend later, but there will definitely be more reading than last time!

There will be a few more posts today, so look out for that! 🙂

Ending

You know what? Forget it. It seems that I’m not up for read-a-thons at the moment. You know how much I read for the entire 24 hours? For 1.5 hours. I read about 100 pages and the rest of the time I slept and mostly watched a lot of Modern Family episodes with my boyfriend. This TV show is so addicting!

But now I’m back into reading. I hope to catch up with my reading challenge for this year and also get back into blogging!

Until next time: happy reading! 🙂

Bout of Books 14.0 Wrap-Up // Updates

Updates

I don’t even know how much I read every day. I just know that I read until Friday and then had a massive book hangover, so that I couldn’t read any more and haven’t read much since then.

Wrap-Up

Number of books finished: 1
Number of pages read: 270

I finished the second half of The Assassin’s Blade and I highly enjoyed it. My heart was torn out of my chest due to unexpected feelings for Sam and Celaena :'(
Since then I feel like I’m in a major book hangover and am not really in the mood to read anything. I need to continue with Heir of Fire, though, because Queen of Shadows will be released in less than a week and I want to be up-to-date on that series.

I think I’m taking it a bit slower with the read-a-thons for now. Although it is always a lot of fun, I think I’m burned out and need to take a few steps back and start to write all of the reviews that I’m behind on.

There are also a few things that will be happening soon (hopefully!). I’ll let you know soon what it actually is 😉

Until next time: happy reading! 🙂

To be honest, I haven’t gotten around to reading much today, either. I really am loving this story, but headaches and chores got in the way of reading much today. I do hope to finish it tomorrow!
